Changed the domain and my network login name on my Windows
2000 sp4 machine, and now I cannot get Internet Services
Manager to start. Message I get is "the system cannot
find the path specified". I have uninstalled and
reinstalled IIS to no avail. There is no metabase.bin
in /winnt/system32/inetsrv/.
I have both ColdFusion 5 and ColdFusion MX installed.

What is in the Windows Event Log?

Sounds like the service in CurrentControlSet is pointing to a non-existant
path, or to a path that system doesn't not have permissions to. That said, I
don't think this was caused simply by joining a machine to a domain (unless
you were running IISAdmin or similar under a non-default, ie not SYSTEM,
user account).

Cheers
Ken

If there is no metabase.bin, then there is no IIS. Try this: make sure it is showing uninstalled and reboot. Now, check com+ to ensure
you can browse the com+ applications. Then, reinstall IIS.

Thank you. I hope this information is helpful.
