Anyone know how to configure Outlook on a network so all terminals are
accessing and updating the same PST file?.....I've been trying for ages, but
just can't seem to make it happen......Do I need to install some server
software on one machine?......

As an alternative to Exchange, as is mentioned by the article Charles links
to, I've used Insight Connector on an IMAP server and found it quite good...
and far less insanely priced. <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://bynari.net/index.php?id=7" target="_blank">http://bynari.net/index.php?id=7</a>

versions ago. I could be wrong.

Reading the help for Outlook, as I guess you have done, the PST file is
stored on the PC hard-drive not the server. After all it is called a
"personal" folder!
Can't you just create/map a common drive that everyone has access to?

That's what I thought.....It sounds a bit daunting to be honest.....We meed
to share the calendar, scheduller and contacts lists between all computers,
but all I can find info on is sharing the email folders and stuff like
that.....

it doesn't work well, trust me ...
I am looking for the same solution myself, I was hoping for a nearly free
IMAP system...
Client / Server solution that can use POP3...
If anyone finds something, I would appreciate a mail!

There's always Novell GroupWise (yuk) but you really don't want to go there.

Just came across this Gerry and Sam for "sharing in a non-Exchange Server
environment".
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.htm" target="_blank">http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.htm</a>
For the common drive I was thinking of by-passing the PST file altogether
and using a simple spreadsheet or Access database for contacts etc, worked
well for me before.
