Hy,

Creating a virual directory alias with "/", like xxxx/xxx isn't
possible, right? But when i make a webshare on my Folder, i can called
the alias xxxx/xxx, but it don't creates a virtual directory...?

What's the difference between a webshare and a virtual directory and why
can't i create an virtual directory like xxxx/xxx? I need that for
deploying our web application...

Can you help me?

Thanks,
Peter

A webshare and a virtual directory are the same. I'm not understanding your
problem, can you describe it including the physical paths and URLs you're
trying to use?

OK i want to create a virtual directory on the folder
c:\inetput\applicationname\web

but over the browser i want access the page over
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://servername/applicationname/web" target="_blank">http://servername/applicationname/web</a>

not over
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://servername/web" target="_blank">http://servername/web</a>

I don't want to create a virutal directory on c:\inetpub\applicationname...

the Problem would be solved when i could called the alias of the virtual
directory applicationname/web

do you understand?

Thanks,

But based on what you're asking for, that's exactly what you need to do.
You need to establish the "applicationname" path first ...

Yes i know that, i don't want to establish the applicationname path.
Because when i do that, all Folders under applicationname are shared,
not only my Web Folder. Do you understand me?

When you create a virtual directory, the folder that it is mapped to and the folders under it "CAN" be made available. You can limit
permissions via NTFS for folders, and also, in the ISM, limit access, by unchecking Read, etc.

Thank you. I hope this information is helpful.
