Hi All,

I'm using w2k3 and IIS6, is it true that when I start
the .net web application, there will be a process
w3wp.exe? As my application is using asp.net, but when I
start the web site, there is no w3wp.exe in task
manager. And a process that related to this web
application always stop suddenly. Could anyone help?
Thank you.

I believe it runs in dllhost.exe, not w3wp.exe

If you are running in Worker Process Isolation mode (ie IIS 6 "native
mode"), then you should see a w3wp.exe for each application pool that you
have running. In task manager, make sure that you have the "Show tasks from
all users" checkbox selected.

If you are running in IIS v5 Isolation Mode, then if the website is set for
medium or high isolation you should see dllhost.exe. If you are running in
low isolation, then the application is loaded inside the inetinfo.exe
process

Cheers
Ken
