Post subject: w3svc unable to start on IIS6

I am seeing errors 7024, 1063, 1036 and 1005. Web publishing service is unable to start. I have tried uninstalling IIS and reinstalling, I have also tried just uninstalling and reinstalling the web publishing service to no avail.

I am running win2k3 with IIS 6.

Any ideas?

errors. Can you provide error text as well?

I'm also experiencing this problem. Restoring the
metabase from a backup does not solve the problem.

If uninstalling/reinstalling doesn't work I'm really
stuck. Seems reinstalling the server is now the only
option left...

Are you still having this problem?

If so please provide more information. Please include event log errors in
this format:
