XP SP2.

I have version 5.0 of the IIS Admin MMC snap-in. My colleague has 5.1. How
do I update my version? I think I need to because my Configuration button
(in the properties dialog) doesn't do anything. You click it and nothing
happens.

Hmm - don't really know. I also have 5.1 but can't remember explicitly
updating it. Have you installed everything available from Windows Update?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I install updates frequently, and I just checked and there's nothing
available for IIS or anything remotely related to it.

I may try a wholesale copy from his machine and hope I don't get into DLL
hell. If so, regsvr32 will be my friend for the day....<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

No noticable change, so I went back to my old copies of the files.

??????????

Let's try a different path: can I back up my metabase so that I can
uninstall and reinstall IIS and then easily recreate all my "Web sites"
(i.e., virtual folders)?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

In the MMC, right click on the machine name and pick "All tasks ->
Backup/Restore Configuration".<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Hmmm... Perhaps you have v1.2 and he has 2.0 for MMC?
IIS would be a snap-in which doesn't make sense if you're both running XP.
I have 5.0 on W2K and 5.1 on XP, which matches IIS versions.
