Post subject: Sending .txt as HTML
Archived from groups: alt>apache>configuration (more info?)

Hi there

I have just noticed that Apache is trying to send some .txt files as HTML to the end
user's machine. I put some of my source code as text files and as apache is sending
it wrongly the end browser tries to render it (it succeeds and therefore the final
page is displayed).

However some of these files are not recommended to be rendered on the browser due to
the nature of the javascript in question, that's why I save them as txt files.

Is there any way to stop this happening? I have made sure the txt filetype is under
text/plain in the mime.types config file.

Thanks in advance,
