I just installed IIS in Windows XP, but I couldn't find the tray icon on the bottom right hand corner of Windows. In Windows 2000, we could find the tray icon there.

any ideas? thanks!

See if there is a file in C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv called pws.exe. =
If not then that's why you do not have nor can get the icon in the =
System Tray. You could always try to copy one over from Windows 2000 =
Professional and see what happens.

But I don't think it will work to get the icon. I just tried it in =
Windows 2000 Server and the show the icon in the System Tray is =
unavailable. There must also be a reg entry that's necessary but sorry =
can't help you there.

There is no tray icon. Instead, you use the more powerful IIS MMC Snapin,
which is available in the Administrative Tools folder. To make it easy to
access, I create a copy of the shortcut, and place it in my Quicklaunch bar
that's on the Windows toolbar.

Cheers
Ken
