Post subject: super basic question
Archived from groups: alt>apache>configuration (more info?)

I am running Windows 98, and I've downloaded but not yet installed
Apache_2.0.47-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi.

I only want this so I can learn mySQL, PHP and possibly perl and practice on
my own machine without having to FTP files to the server on me "real"
website all the time. I most definitely do NOT want this to be an actual
internet server.

I have two questions:

1. Are these the right entries during set-up? (I've found a few tutorials,
but I'm not sure if what I found applies to this version):

Network Domain: User
Server Name: localhoast
Administrators Email: ???? could this be any email address in the
right format?

"Only for the current User, or Port 8080, when started manually"

2. I found a few messages that indicate this server conflicts with
ZoneAlarm. Is this only if you have ZoneAlarm running during installation,
or is it all the time?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Alice
