Post subject: any suggestions for adding basic dynamic content to a 'news' page?
Archived from groups: alt>www>webmaster (more info?)

i manage a site for a good friend and we would like to 'inject' his
news section with dynamic content.

i'd like to set it up so that he can (at least somewhat) easily update
the content (or 'posts') himself. i've looked a few php-driven blog
scripts and portals, but they all add way more than he wants.

any suggestion(s) on any simpler options which might fit the bill?

the site: http://wscottfelton.com

the 'news' page where he'd like to add the dynamic content and the
ability to easily add 'posts' on his own is the first page you'll see.

and one last plea:

could someone please click any one of the three thumbs of scott on
this page and possibly suggest better javascript (or other script) to
use for the popup function? i'd like to replace the current action
with one that has the popup window sizes pre-defined instead of
resizing 'on-the-fly' as this current one does.

and of course, firefox users whom have their browsers tweaked just
right won't have the current popups resize at all. Wink~

thanks again in advance folks'es and folks'tresses... hand.

A more urgent job, in my opinion, would be sorting out that colour
scheme....Dark blue on a black background renders your site unreadable to a
vast number of visitors.....

<http://www.havia.net/guestbook/> has an extremely simple guestbook
script that you could work with. Uses a file, not a database, to store
entries. Naturally you should put the entry-generating page in a
protected area Smile.
