Can you suggest a good and inexpensive raw log analyzer? I really like
Webtrends, but I'm not prepared to pay $495 for a log analyzer, at least not
right now. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the link.

However, I'm looking for something better? I'm willing to pay for it if it's
not too expensive. Thanks once again.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

http://adubus.free.fr/audistat/ combined with an external link tracker does
about half of the above.

Yeah thanks, I just took a look at it too, it gives me some quick thing to
look at and only took about 2 min to get going.

Cheers

Do you want facts or an ego massage?

Technically, Analog is great. It copes with virtual domains and LARGE
log files, and produces all the data one needs to review http usage
over a period, spot strange spikes in requests and other unusual
behaviour.

What do you actually want to achieve?

Better in what way?

They all tell you the same thing, which as Brucie pointed out, is fairly
limited.

I find it best not to analyse logs at all, just flush straight away and
forget about it.

I like AWStats <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.awstats.org/" target="_blank">http://www.awstats.org/</a> It's free but can be a little tricky
to install.

I haven't used Urchin but I have seen the reports it produced back in about
version 3 and they were very good <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.urchin.com/" target="_blank">http://www.urchin.com/</a> It's not cheap but
I think they have installers for multiple platforms.
