Platform: HP-UX.

I was working with a bunch files in a temp directory. When I am done I
deployed all the files to the working directory by copying them over. When I
remove the files from the temp directory, the directory somehow RECREATED a
bunch of duplicates of my html files and named them like this:
..nfs77563
..nfs97563
..nfsA7563
..nfsB7563

etc.

I can't delete them. If I delete one, it will clone itself and create
another one with different name! How strange. If I use rm -r from the upper
directory. the process goes into a loop. I can rename them but still, if I
delete the renamed files, these .nfs... files mysteriously reappeared!

Does anyone know what's going on?

Shawn

No kidding... I could move them to other directories within my home
directory but can't move them out. I tried to move them to /tmp but it only
creates copies in /tmp. I could edit the content, reduce the size to 0 but
they are, O lord, persistent.

Thanks! Now I know what's going on. I wouldn't worry about them too much any
more, as long as they don't grow uncontrollably. Thanks again for the
pointer. I should have thought about searching this.
