Hi,
There is an issue which can cause IIS to fail on Windows 2000 with
this error message.
Check the number of IP addresses (Network Connections->Click on your
network adapter->Properties->TCP/IP Properties->advanced) configured
for your machine. More than 25 can cause IIS to fail on Windows 2000
Server. If you have more than 25 then remove some IP addresses until
there are 25 or less, then try restarting the service.
You will then need to either move any sites configured on the IP
addresses you removed to another server or change the host headers on
the sites so that they share an IP address.
