What do you mean by "the server stops serving only asp pages".
Do all ASP pages return errors, "hang" and return nothing, return junk, etc?
Can you report the web log entries for the ASP requests when this happens,
as well as any Event Log entries.
Have you recently installed some security software on the machine? Is the
machine in a domain? What about any domain policies that intentionally
disable IIS by changing user credentials/logon, etc.

Hello,
our company is experiencing the following situation:
we have an W2k Server with IIS which hosts some asp and asp.net sites (about
20). Everything was working OK until last week when we installed SP4 on that
server box. Since that moment on, the server stops serving only asp pages
(htm and aspx are working fine...). The temporary solution we found was
stopping IIS, regsvr asp.lll starting IIS and everything works well again
for about a couple of hours (1-2). Of course, we tried removing sp4,
reinstalling IIS...nothing changes. Perhaps it's not even about the SP4 we
installed...
Have you any guys encounterd this situation and found a solution?
Thanks,
Tudor
