This happened when I tried to make a minor change to the http.conf -
change the IP address in NameVirtualHost and VirtualHost definitions.I
cannot start apache and the only thing I am getting is:

ssl_error_log:
[error] Server should be SSL-aware but has no certificate configured
[Hint: SSLCertificateFile]

Can someone help?

Andrew

What was this "minor change"?

It looks to me, from the info you have supplied, that Apache is
expecting an SSL cert, which hasn't been created / installed properly..
but I may be wrong. More info would be very handy.

Hmmmm, the error suggests that you do not have the ssl.crt and ssl.key
directories and files needed for SSL to start up. Did you start
apache with "-D SSL"?

What this has to do with your modifications is a guess without more
information.

You could make the proper SSL key-pair, and see what happens...

For instructions on that...

SSL should not even be used for the name-based server. At least this
is the message from the HTTPD config tool (I am talking RedHat Cool.

I am puzzled...
