Post subject: starting iis services

I need to start IIS services and they won't. I keep
getting the timed out message. Can anyone help me?

I'm on W2K but don't know what version of IIS...

Anything in the Event Viewer?

You're on IIS 5.0; that's the only version that runs on 2000

You are on IIS 5.0 for w2k. Check the following:

You have a nic installed with tcp/ip, ms client, and file/printer sharing bound to it.
have sp4 installed
windowsupdate after sp4
then, install IIS. You should be ok. Might want to run a virus scan prior to ensure no viruses on the box.
