Been working .cnet at work for the last couple of weeks on a windows 2003 Professional,porting Unix text based programs into web applications. In a few weeks I will be vacationing. SO I have copied the visual studio/cnet environment onto my laptop. Thing is I cannot get to first base because I dont have a web server on th XP laptop. My understganding is that IIS is the web server. Is this not part of my XP OS or do I have to upgrade to professionel or buy the IIS separately. Apoligize If I sound confused .Jon L

Hi,

If you have XP Pro then you can install IIS in Add/Remove Programs ->
Add/Remove Windows Components -> IIS

If you have XP Home you will need to upgrade to XP Pro to have IIS

XP Home does not have IIS. XP Pro has IIS, but you need to install it
if it hasn't been installed already.
