hi guys

good afternoon
i faced some problem after i install IIS

afteri install the IIS 5.0 in window 2000
when i try to start service for the IIS, the "Default Web Site" service cannot be start.
it will pop up a error message "Address already in use" if i manually start service under the "Default Web Site"

Any idea how to solve this problem?

looks to me like you have another server running on that port.

have you installed any other web server on port 80? and if not, have you
run a virus scanner recently? I've heard talk of some viruses/hacks
installing mini web servers onto compromised machines...

or you could just change the port IIS runs under....

Hello,

This usually means that you have already an application that is listening on
port 80.

Please verify that you do not have another webserver, or something else,
that is listening on port 80.
