Post subject: Could not start www publishing service

I am using win2k, IIS Ver.5. and visual studio. It was working fine and now i am getting error

"Could not start World wide web publishing service service on local computer"
"Error 2148073487:Object already exists."

Then i try to run "net start w3svc" And I am getting this Error
"System Error 15 has Occurred"
"The system can not find the Drive specified"

Help me please,

Your metabase seems corrupt. Did you have a backup of your metabase? See IIS
console, actions and backup with a right mouse click on the server node.
If it is not backed up you can
1) try to repair the metabase by removing the corrupt entry
IIS' metabase becomes corrupt, especially if you use IISRESET or if you
not nicely shut down the computer. The metabase is not flushed correctly and
will corrupt...
2) reinstall IIS

If you have just one website, you don't need to care about repairing, just
reinstall and make a backup this time Smile

I dont know how to see Metabase or its
entry. will someone please let me know step by step , so i can reinstall my IIS.

Get to a command prompt...

get to this directory c:\inetpub\adminscripts

type the following:

cscript adustil.vbs /enum w3svc

If that returns without error...

my next question would be - do you have any 3rd party ISAPI filters being
loaded?
