Hi,

I received the following msg after installing Apache2 on windows 2000

(OS 10048)Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network
address/port)
is normally permitted. : make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs

I used "Active Ports" to find out that "TCP inetinfo.exe is using port 80".

How do I resolve this issue to get Apache running?

1. Does windows need inetinfo.exe to run? If not how do I kill it.
2. What other option do I have?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like Microsoft IIS is running. Open Services in control pannel, and
find the WWW Service. Stop it, and set it's startup type to disabled.
