Hi all,

We're having a strange issue with Win2003/IIS6. The specific
application we're using is Livelink... when we test download speeds
using the livelink.exe CGI we see slow download speeds vs a download
directly through IIS. We're talking 60-70% slower. We do not see the
same behaviour on a Win2000/IIS5 box (using the same application, same
network and same downloaded material).

Anyone seen anything similar? Does IIS6 interact with CGIs in a
different way from IIS5?

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

Have you tried using the llisapi.dll instead of the CGI to increase
performance since you are using IIS? Are the StrictClientParse and
ReceiveBeforeSend both set to true on both boxes?

We have tried the .dll and we do see a slight jump in speed, but the
disparity between the CGI and direct-to-the-webserver is still
evident. With LL 9.1 under Windows 2000 there is next to no difference
in speed regardless of whether the CGI is used. But under Windows 2003
we're seeing this slowdown with both LL 9.1 and 9.5.

As for the configuration settings, ReceiveBeforeSend is definitely on
but I'm not sure about StrictClientParse. I'll take a look.

Thanks for your response!

Cheers,
