Sorry, I meant to be more specific. I meant just for web page deisgners. Right
now I'm looking for design types that I like. I did a google search for "web
page designers" AND "portfolios" to see sample web sites that people are
creating but it seems like alot of them are over-the-top artsy kind of stuff.

there are several newsgroups (that I know of and probably many more besides)
where people ask for site reviews. by definition these will be new sites.

I would guess the 'home' group for such activity would be
news:alt.html.critique

you could take a look at the sites up for review to see if you can draw any
inspiration from them.
