Okay, this may be a stupid question. (If so, I apologize
in advance.) I'm running IIS 5.1 on XP Pro, and I can't
figure out how to create a new Web site. On other
editions of IIS I've used, you could right-click and
choose New > Web site, but that option is gone in IIS
5.1. I have a Default Web site, but the only way I can
get anything to run is by putting it in the Default site
and running it as sort of a sub-site. (This is giving me
problems as far as the root directory goes when uploading
the sites to the Web.)
Can anyone help me out? Thanks so much. >> Stay informed about: New site on IIS 5.1 |

IIS 5.1 only supports 1 website, as does any version of
IIS installed on a desktop operating system.

IIS 5.1 on XP Pro can only have one web site. If you need to have multiple
web sites you will need to run Server 2003 or 2000.

Hello,
IIS in Windows XP Pro can only run one website. It is not possible to create
another website. You need a server edition for this.
