Post subject: setting up redirections?
Archived from groups: alt>apache>configuration (more info?)

Hi, I have a bit of a strange problem. I'll explain as best I can.

I bought a domain and then forwarded it to another URL. When you enter
www.domain.net (example) it goes to the home page of the site, which is
fine. However, if you click on any file or folder, the address in the
address bar still stays at www.domain.net and not the location of the
specific file. This has been annoying me no end.

According to the registrar, it's something on my end and *might* be to do
with redirection. "Framed redirection" was also mentioned. Can anyone help
me out? I would greatly appreciate it.

Running Apache 1.3.27 on Windows 2000.

Many thanks.

Colin

Let me understand... you are browsing the directories using a
Web server?

Yes, if you have a frameset the address bar will show only the
address of the 'main' frame.

I'm browsing directories on a server, and I'm using a web browser to browse
them with.

Remove the frameset. It's in the html somewhere.
