IIS is not serving pages: XP-Pro or Norton?
Recently, my PC was upgraded from Windows 2000 to XP Professional. I
did not have this issue before then: IIS has not been able to serve
pages since I went to XP Pro.

A few of the technicians at my job told me that I should switch from
Norton's Anti-Virus/Firewall package to McAfee's products. Do any of
you know of any odd behavior that has been reported like this?

Also, when I go to IIS's MMC, The IP for my local PC seems to keep
changing (in the drop-down). I am not on a network--it is a stand
alone PC.

Thanks,
Mark

This is an almost classic issue by now, just stop the script blocking
service in Norton Antivirus.

I mean, really stop it, go to the service panel and shut it down and
disable it.

Thank you. Last question: Should I disable this in Norton as well? OR
Just this in Services:
"ScriptBlocking Service" (now, disabled)
C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\SYMANT~1\SCRIPT~1\SBServ.exe

If it's disabled it's disabled, norton just starts or stops this service
but now you have made sure it wont start again.

This doesn't mean you are less protected, it's a stupid service to begin
with, Norton will still recognize know viruses even if they are scripts.
