IIS is not serving aspx pages

I'm using VS.NET 2002 and all of a sudden(been
using it exactly as is for over a year) the web
application is no longer available on localhost.
I get the message:
Server Application Unavailable
The web application you are attempting to access on
this web server is currently unavailable. Please hit
the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your
request.

Administrator Note: An error message detailing the
cause of this specific request failure can be found in the
system event log of the web server. Please review this
log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.


But there is no associated error entry in the server system log.
I have tried removing and reinstalling IIS and checked the file extensions.
I can still retrieve all my .htm and .asp files but can not get
my .aspx files. I tried running aspnet_regiis.exe and did not help.

if you just updated your computer? (03-032 is a fairly old patch though!
Maybe you should update more often?)
