If your on a Home ISP service I'd be surprised if they'd let you run one,
they may take you off line.

Try BIND

You cannot run a name server with XP Pro... however, most folks benefit from
a remote name server anyway. Try <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.dns4free.com." target="_blank">http://www.dns4free.com.</a> You DO have to
know a little about DNS to do this. Smile

Windows XP Pro does not have DNS Server included. I'm not sure if there are
third party products that can be installed, but keep in mind that a name
server is quite important. If it is not available, nothing about your domain
will work. No email, no webserver, nothing. I would recommend using a server
product, for maximum availability.

There are third party DNS servers which work on XP Pro. Bind will, as
will TinyDNS. Of course, you *really* don't want to do this, but
that's a topic for the DNS groups. It's not an IIS issue.
