Verify the webserver extensions. if asp is allowed when you cannot access
the asp pages.
Check if the pages are hanging.
disable friendly http error messages on the IE to see a detailed error.
Change the IIS to a different ISOLATION MODE iis5/worker process and see if
it serves the pages

IIS6 on Windows Server 2003 publishes log information to three logs,
depending on its type.
1. Connection/HTTP/AppPool related issues go into
%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\LogFiles\HTTPErr\*.log
2. Request related issues (200, 404, 500, etc) go into %SYSTEMROOT
%\System32\LogFiles\W3SVC#\*.log
3. Non-request/Server-configuration issues go into the Event Log for
Application and System
Timeouts are connection related, so you won't find them in the event viewer.
Basically, IIS cannot spam the Event Log (that is a security vulnerability),
so you will only find serious configuration-related issues in the Event Log.
Request/connection-based issues are not serious (they may be crippling to
your website at the application level, but from a system point of view, it
is non-serious), so they are logged elsewhere in the standard Windows
LogFiles location.
Can you give the exact error that is returned when you turn off IE's "Show
Friendly HTTP Errors" option.
If it is a "hanging" request (Browser keeps spinning and shows nothing for a
long time), try running IIS State on the server when the hanging is
happening and post its log here for an analysis.

Hi
the error message that i get when IIS stop to serve asp page is:
The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can
change this limit by specifying a new value for the property
Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration
tools.
this message come a lot of time later that i wait for the page
Thank you

Then it looks like your page is hanging, and you need to get an IIS State
log of the worker process during the hang.
Post the log here for an analysis. Make sure your server can access symbols
on Microsoft.com so that the analysis can be correctly done the first time.

>>> 2. Request related issues (200, 404, 500, etc) go into %SYSTEMROOT

>>> Request/connection-based issues are not serious (they may be crippling
