Hello,

could somebody give me some advice how so make a apache2 with php4.x and
mysql secure under windows. The server will be on the internet and have
also ftp access. So i must make sure that the apache+php+mysql
configuration is secure when someone hacks a ftp account and tries to
upload scripts. Are there some tutorials or links?

Alex

No Windows is as secure as Linux... But most of windows OS aren't made for
it, you should use a professional edition...
Please stop saying windows isn't secure...

Because Linux users aren't Lusers that click on any kind of
attachments they receive by e-mail.

I think its not the right place to discuss here which OS is the better
operating system. Its a apache newsgroup and you can run this webserver
on the OS of your choice.

certainly. but unfortunately securing an apache against an attacker
having "hacked an ftp account" is difficult at best when you don't
know the rest of the system - remember, this group is _not_ about
windows security.

if the ftp server being exploited was an iis, you run a chance that it
was running under local system priviledges thus giving the intruder
full control over the system.

joachim, not regarding windows on the internet as a good idea...<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
