Post subject: "a secure communications channel could not be established with the target server
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Everytime I click on the Custom Errors dialog, I get the
error message:
"a secure communications channel could not be established
with the target server"

I am connecting to the server from the local console, so
I don't understand what the problem is. It is only the
custom errors tab, all the others seem okay.

In a related issue, when I start the MMC to manage IIS,
it prompts me for a username/password, even though I am
logged in as a user with admin privleges. I just put in
the same username/password and I get in just fine.
