I have apache 1.3.28 running on windows. When i try to shutdown or
restart apache I get a error saying 'cannot read apache PID file' and
shows a path. That file is not in the shown path. How do i create the
PID file? What do I put in it?

Thanks for your help

Andy

You don't, it's supposed to be created by the startup of Apache
itself, I think you are trying to restart a never-started apache
or the restart script has some trouble.
I'd use stop/start instead of restart.
