I have this problem on IIS 6 for Win 2003 server.

In this server i have some sites, when i try to access to this sites from a browser it asks me to insert username and password.

So if i look into the IIS panel and the Web Site Propriety, in the tab "Directory Security" and i press [Edit] button in the "Authentication and access control" square.
It open a new window where i see that the "Enable anonymous access" is checked and the user was IUSR_<namemachine>.
And the voice "Integrated Windows authentication" in "Autheticated access" is checked.

Then i go to check the directory permission.
Right click on the directory
"Security" tab
i see this users with this permissions:
- Administrators (full control)
- CREATOR OWNER (none)
- IIS_WPG (read & execute, List Folder Contents, Read)
- INTERACTIVE (List Folder Contents)
- Internet Guest Account IUSR_<namemachine> (List Folder Contents, Read)
- SYSTEM (full control)

so i think that it's all ok, but when i try to browse the site it continue to ask me the username and the password, WHERE IS THE PROBLEM?

i don't know.... HELP!
Thank you

I am assuming you only want anonymous access. If so, did
you try unchecking Integrated Windows Authentication?

Look in the security log in event viewer for more info.
