somebody knows if there's a kind of configuration or script for IIS for
process management to prevent unauthorized processes to run over (
permitted ) a specified time. (eg.. a asp script that performs a query.
The script has only a single minute to perform this query, otherwise, the
script pid will be killed, and a some kind of timeout message will be
shown to client )

tks

Isn't there a server configuration to turn on a timer globally in IIS that
would affect all scripts that run on the server? This would be the ideal
solution, as an ASP-based solution would mean editing all of our customers
scripts, which is not practical (not to mention that the user would be
able to turn it off).

That's not exactly what I need. I need some kind of timer that will
kill the script execution after the specified amount of time,
regardless of wether the script is doing useful computation or not.

The setting you mentioned is currently configured to timeout in 60
seconds, but it doesn't kill a script which, for example, executes and
exceedinly long database query.

Using IIS Tracer (www.iismonitor.net), I can see the execution time of
the conections, and while the parameter you mentioned is set to 60s, I
still have execution times above that.

Any idea about why it isn't killing these connections? Maybe there's
some other configuration parameter I need to set?
