Post subject: problems sending email using cdonts - permission denied
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

hi,

Someone in my company has "testing" NTFS permissions and now I have a big
problem.
we use CDONTS in our applications ( ASP pages running under a W2K server and
IIS5) and just after the "test" some pages are returning a Permission Denied
when it try to send an email.
I found in technet some information about NTFS permissions in mailroot
folder, but it is correct.
I think the problem with permissions is in winnt folder.
If I put the IIS Application Protection in Low, the messages has sent, but
if i put both Medium or High I get the error.

Does anyone have a clue?

Thanks,
Jr

The problem is that the CDONTS.DLL file doesn't come with 2003 Server, you need to get a copy from your windows 2000 disk, and register the dll on the new server.!
