Archived from groups: alt>apache>configuration (more info?)

I manage to fix this problem few months back:)
but i just reformat and re-installed apache on this win2k box and i'm having
this problem again

so here it is...
-2 apache process running
-1 seems ok
-1 using 94% CPU (i think thats my problem)
-i can't access my webpage throught local host or by any other mean

this is an error log of a "start-stop" apache service (to tell you the
truth, i dont see the error in that but...)
**
[Mon Oct 27 20:11:07 2003] [notice] Parent: Created child process 1612
[Mon Oct 27 20:11:07 2003] [notice] Child 1612: Child process is running
[Mon Oct 27 20:11:07 2003] [notice] Child 1612: Acquired the start mutex.
[Mon Oct 27 20:11:07 2003] [notice] Child 1612: Starting 250 worker threads.
[Mon Oct 27 20:11:17 2003] [notice] Parent: Received shutdown signal --
Shutting down the server.
[Mon Oct 27 20:11:17 2003] [notice] Child 1612: Exit event signaled. Child
process is ending.
[Mon Oct 27 20:11:18 2003] [notice] Child 1612: Released the start mutex
[Mon Oct 27 20:11:19 2003] [notice] Child 1612: Waiting for 250 worker
threads to exit.
[Mon Oct 27 20:11:19 2003] [notice] Child 1612: All worker threads have
exited.
[Mon Oct 27 20:11:19 2003] [notice] Child 1612: Child process is exiting
[Mon Oct 27 20:11:19 2003] [notice] Parent: Child process exited
successfully.
**

So my guess is that the problem is really the process who's using 94% of my
cpu
Like i said, i had this problem in the past, it kinda fixed itself cause i
really don't know what i did to fix it.
Maybe an update that i did or ...i really dont know
The only thing i remember is that i installed iis the last time cause apache
wasnt working.
Then i few weeks later i re-installed apache and it worked.
But then again ...tat may have been something else

pls help me find the cause of this Smile
thx
