Hi,

I'm running a personal web-site from the 'public site' directory
/home/groups/home directory on my qube.
This works fine except for any perl/cgi-script. The permissions on the
scripts are right and it seems that the scripts itself can also be located
(in the ./cgi-bin directory. whatever i try, i always get a 'CGIwrap
error:execution failed' saying:

Error Message: No such file or directory
Error Number: 2
This message usually indicates there is a problem with the script itself.
The owner of the script needs to check the #! line for correctness.

The #! points to /usr/bin/perl, which is the right location.
Somehow Apache on my qube doesn't 'understand' Perl ..... which is strange
since there are several other perl scripts on the system

any suggestions?

If that is a cgi script, is not run by Apache, apache only run
a shell that runs the script. What if you call your
script from the prompt?
What's in the error_log?

I get something like

[Sat Sep 25 21:51:17 2004] [warn] [client 192.168.168.240] handler
"cgi-wrapper
not found for: /home/groups/home/cgi-bin/cgitest.cgi

in a file called home-error which is in /etc/httpd/logs.
The script runs fine from the prompt.

That more or less means " I don't know with what to execute that
thing"... I think you need to specify an handler in your Apache
config or to change the extension of the script.
