LSASS.exe is the security provider for Win2k/AD/Domain controllers. If it
fails for any reason, the OS will force a shutdown b/c it can no longer do
authentication. Typically, the reason it grows is that either:
a) There is a bug that needs to be fixed
or
b) There is a bug in another application that leaks security contexts. Each
context takes a little bit of memory. If something leaks a lot (I'm talking
about millions of contexts), it will cause the failure.
You should contact MS support and get someone there to look at the problem.
It is entirely possible that there is a hotfix that will address the issue.
