login to iis

I know it is possible to use another database when a user want to access a
webpage instead of using the user database on the server..

but how and where can i find some more informations ?

You'd need to either write your own application for this or use on
that's already produced. You can't use any of the authentication
mechanisms in IIS with anything other than the normal Windows user
arrangement.
