Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Does anyone know why my asp site (or even the default page)
for my IIS server gives me a "The page cannot be displayed" ?
"HTTP 500 - Internal server error "

I can access the site from my other networked machine.

I have 2 machines with a dlink router.
It was working a couple of weeks ago and the only change I did
was to add the xp firewall. I then realized I didn't need it, becuase
my router already has one, and so I removed it.

Thanks,

....Peter

What's the "real" error message. Turn off IE's friendly error messages
(Tools-> Internet Options ->Advanced) and paste the new error

I get a Bad URL error.

I tried using it's ip address 192.168.0.100
(from ipconfig)
after several minutes, I got a gateway timeout, server unreachable.

I reset the settings on my router and everything worked !

Thanks for the help !

....Peter
