Post subject: Apache load balancing on Linux
Archived from groups: alt>apache>configuration (more info?)

Hi,

Being passionate by Linux I am considering to design an Apache load balancing project.

My idea is to have a common storage iSCSI, SAN, NAS that can be extended on the fly and several front end servers .

Is anyone here that have implemented a such iSCSI shared storage? How I can maintain a common ACL list for all servers?

I will highly appreciate any hint, URL and advise that will allow me to implement a scalable Load Balancing solution on
Linux.

On Microsoft, this can be done without NAT by assigning this IP's to a virtual interface and you can add and remove
servers on the fly for maintenance.
I am looking to have similar facilities or even more on Linux solution - all Internet IP's on the virtual interface,
hart beat between servers, automatic decommission of removed ones and automatically adding of new servers on the fly.

I am also willing to team with others that have similar interest.

Thank you,

Chris P
