Post subject: How to load IIS on XP without an SP1 CD?
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

When trying to add the IIS component, the computer requests that I
insert the CD for XP SDP1. All of my updates have been from the web,
so I don't have this CD. The computer gives me an option of selecting
an alternate SP1 file. I went to the Microsoft site and tried to
download and save SP1 so I could point to that file, but had problems.

Two problems: SP1 no longer exists. It is replaced by SP1A, which is
not what the IIS loader is calling for. Also, I cannot figure out how
to download SP1A. Each time I tried, SP1A wants to load on my computer
by Hotfix rather than just giving me the file.

Any help would be appreciated.

Easy. Go here:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?" target="_blank">http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?</a>
FamilyID=83e4e879-fa3a-48bf-ade5-

Download the file (it's 120+ megs), save it to your hard
drive, unzip it and then when the IIS install requests
the SP, point it to where you unzipped it.
