For a normal site (good content and providing a service for the visitor)
contact sites directly and ask to exchange links.
For a "linking for the sake of it" site, just go with the normal affiliates
of like-minded people, paying each other to link to each others similar
site, and bombard each other with similar ads, keeps the money spinning,
with no-one benefiting.

I rather go for the first option. Right.
I'll give this thing a week for it to develop into some sort of results,
then take it off again if it does not produce any.
My site is service and free. Can do without the crap you're describing, but
should give something a chance.
Now it's only been costing me time and money.
A break even somewhere next year would be wonderful.
The linking bit is just to get a better ranking. The service remains free,
as long as manufacterors don't start making trouble. (some of 'm deliver us
the goods now, which is encouraging)

only a recommendation that the site is popular, otherwise it wouldn't be listed.
not exactly bombarded, 4 or 5 text links in a partners section would be enough
to fire the exchange off.
I see your point it tarnishes the site, and I'm not expecting assistance from
anyone but when you're down an out and the world is relying on you without them
knowing it you have to keep askin hey?

its badly worded. 50% of the profit, I've set the profit level at 10% so you'd only
make 5% on sales. that sections not finished you have to contact me for the banners.
