I've taken over a fairly large, but boring alumni association web site. I'd
like to install some on-line games the alums can play (either on their own or
against one another) while visiting the site. Any suggestions?

TIA

Don't bother.

I also have an alumni site. It gets very little traffic. I doubt it is
from lack of fun games. I think the lack of traffic is because all us
1977 grads are too busy with our current lives to spend a lit of time
remeniscing.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Try <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.miniclip.com/Downloads.htm" target="_blank">http://www.miniclip.com/Downloads.htm</a> for free games for your site.

Yeah.. I pretty much share your sentiments. Some of the alums asked for it, so
I figured.. what the hell. I've got a ton of server space so I figured I'd give
it a shot.

potential useful features of an alumni site

1. searchable database of alumni available for freelance work

2. bulletin board to post ad hoc events such as cinema trips, gigs, bar
nights...especially if alumni are directly involved in performance of
production for shows

erm...that's about it...never seen one that was any use myself

Smile

That was going to be my suggestion. I also thought though that
this seems to get asked here a lot. Maybe we should add it to the FAQ?

Yes quite a few actually:

http://www.aww-faq.org/aww-links.html#Miscellaneous_Free_Stuff
http://www.aww-faq.org/aww-links.html#Free_clip_art
http://www.aww-faq.org/aww-links.html#Free_Stock_Photos

The main links page is here:
http://www.aww-faq.org/aww-links.html

Maybe the link to the games sites etc. should be worked in somewhere.
