HTTPD : 99% cpu - Hi all, I have a very special problem with apache 1.3.27 & php 4.3.1 ... My httpd process usualy use 10 - 15 % cpu .... But every 45 min (about), it goes to 99 % cpu use and all websites came down .... The only way to make it working again is to res

no httpd.pid file - Apache was running up until this Now for some reason when I start the server I get but when I stop it I get (no pid file) not Each time I start the server another file appears in /var/run of the form..

httpd and apachectl won't run - I've just upgraded to 2.0.52, but now find that amongst other things, I can't run httpd or apachectl - I just get not

Where is httpd.conf? - I just install the mandrake 10.0 with all the updates if I go to i can see a page that say: Welcome to localhost This site is powered by:

httpd.conf ???' - Hi there On a system there are many saves of How can I find the one which is realy used by httpd deamon??? Does it give a command to check the path to the file... I'm in trouble with it... Thanks --

please help. i lost my power and now am receiving the following error
when trying to restart apache. im no expert and am having a heck of a
time. (i have been down 2 days now trying to repair)


Failed to start apache : Apache does not appear to be running :

Starting httpd-perl: fopen: No such file or directory
httpd-perl: could not open document config file
/etc/httpd/conf/ssl/mod_ssl.conf
[FAILED]
Starting httpd2: [ OK ]

It looks like you're trying to start the wrong version of apache
(missing configuration files) OR some file on the machine are
corrupted/broken.
If you have a backup is time to use it.

Windows 2000 is more secure than Linux...
Since the machine is offline half of the time because of crashes, it
cannot be accessed globally, therefore producing higher security.

You might want to also check for stray PID files.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
