I just install the mandrake 10.0 with all the updates available.
if I go to http://locahost i can see a page that say:

---------------------------------
Welcome to localhost

This site is powered by: Apache-AdvancedExtranetServer/2.0.48 (Mandrake
Linux/6.3.100mdk) mod_perl/1.99_11 Perl/v5.8.3 mod_ssl/2.0.48
OpenSSL/0.9.7c PHP/4.3.4!
-----------------------------------

so I know Apache is running and that PHP also but I have no way to access
them at list that I know of.

Also how do one install mySQL and PHPMyAdmin?

PS: as you can see I ma new to linux... Smile I setup my laptop as linux in
order to develope some web sites I design.

Thanks

Usually the configuration files are in /etc/httpd or /etc/apache.

By reading their documentations and following the instructions.

This group is alt.APACHE.configuration. Not alt.LINUX.something.

If you're om MDK 10 i guess you have apache

So

The main config file is /etc/httpd/conf/httpd2.conf

and the file where to put your virtual host
is /etc/httpd/conf/vhosts/Vhosts.conf
