I have been running Apache 2 on Windows 2000 on Cable for about 4
months. Apache logs show Nimda type worms are busy.

I uncommitted the "LoadModule lines in httpd.conf.

I have only two tasks I have tried to make work but can't seem to
accomplish either one:

1. use .htaccess to secure one directory.
Accessing the directory launches the userid / password screen.
Password never seems to be correct.

Apache log shows userid is correct; userid = public
but password mismatch.
[client 192.168.1.101] user public: authentication failure for
"/share": Password Mismatch

I have tried two different web sites for password generator:
-webmaster-toolkit.com

-xs4all.nl

How do I debug this???

2. ReWrite (see next post when I get it written up)

You should have your password generator with the apache executable,
it's called htpasswd.
