Post subject: need host for multiple TINY domains
Archived from groups: alt>www>webmaster (more info?)

I manage a few tiny websites, mostly for free for some local
organizations. They range for simple placeholder sites ("coming
soon!") to sites with a dozen or so static pages. I also have a few
domains that http-redirect to a directory on my personal ISP account
web space, which obviously looks ugly to the visitor (URL changes in
the address field) and betrays my personal account behind it.

So I'm looking for a good host provider that will allow me to set up
several domains (not subdomains) within one account. The total
traffic/storage requirement of these is likely to be well within the
CHEAPEST option that any provider offers.

As far as being reputable providers, I've narrowed it down to
hostforweb.com
page-zone.com
both of which have had favorable opinions posted here -- and I
understand the proprieters of both services hang out here, so hello Smile

I don't intend to register the domains with that provider -- the
domain registrar that I already use (gandi.net) has worked well for me
and I'll be keeping that side there (better to stay diversified
anyway).

It doesn't have to be rock bottom in cost, but I start to get
uncomfortable at about $15/month. What's my best choice if I'm
looking for several domains (say, 10) but have very low
traffic/storage needs? I already poked around the WebHostingTalk
forums ...

Thanks!

- Chris

As a reseller customer of hostforweb, I highly recommend them.
Go with a reseller account and host the sites yourself.
Tech support is very very good.
As a reseller, you get practically unlimited everything. At a very
affordable rate.

If they're local sites, why not approach a local host?

Just came across this thread. I think I'm in the same sort'v situation as you with
regards to client-types. I've been with http://www.pay-as-you-host.com/ for over three
years now and have little to complain about. They have php, MySQL and phpMyAdmin plus the
usual reports.
