I have solaris 9 (sparc) and installed apache from source (1.3x)
and no matter what I do it wont run on startup.

I created a file in /etc/rc2.d and /etc/rc3.d called Startup99 - which
runs but it wont run apache.

apache complains it cant find a library.
even if I add the PATH, LIB_PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH, etc it doesnt work.

but if I log in and run it manually it works fine.

I also tried adding it to /etc/rc.local and in /etc/init.d

nothing works.

whats worse is the error message doesnt log - only to the console...
which is a real pain.

this only happens on reboot.

anyone got any good ideas?

B.

Adding them where? Did you tried to add those parameters in the
apachectl script that is used to start apache?
