Archived from groups: biz>ecommerce (more info?)

I have an online catalog business. I sell products that are geared
toward helping people create a lifestyle of magic, inspiration, and
harmony through exploration in aromatherapy products, mythology and
new age, candles, various exotic home decor, inspirational, and much
more. I would like to know how I can really put my business out
there. I have used a couple of internet advertisers, but it has not
done much good. If you have any good ideas of what I can do to bring
customers to my site, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Howdy,

It's hard to offer you any specific advise without being able to look at
your web site.

Marketing a web site is a long tedious process. It's really not that much
different than advertising a brick and mortar store. Except, you don't have
a sign people can see when they drive by.

For a mixed product site like yours, you'll need each web page coded so the
search engines will pick it up in the best search matches. It can take many
months to refine that and get it optimized.

For the folks hosted on the BIZynet servers, I provide the
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://bizynet.com/BUY-Indx.htm" target="_blank">http://bizynet.com/BUY-Indx.htm</a> and <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://bizycart.com/BIZyCart.asp" target="_blank">http://bizycart.com/BIZyCart.asp</a> indexes
to share the site links with the search engines. You'll find matching link
pages on many of the web sites. This results in every site getting
reindexed at least weekly by all of the major web crawlers. Without that,
it might be three or four months before keywords get updated.

Concentrate on exchanging links with compatible sites. For example, if you
sell belt buckles, you'd want to exchange links on sites that sell pants and
shirts.

Thanks, Chris <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.bizynet.com" target="_blank">www.bizynet.com</a> and <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.bizycart.com" target="_blank">www.bizycart.com</a>

You have listed a lot of target markets and I think that you should
come up with a business plan that includes a target plan for each
target market that you have listed above. It's more harder when you
decide to go after everybody as opposed to going after one target
market at a time.

I belong to several groups that are good target markets that you can
add to your marketing plans. You should also list your web page
address so that others can take a look at it.
