Post subject: help installing PHP w Apache on WinXP
Archived from groups: alt>apache>configuration, others (more info?)

So I installed Apache 2.0 on my WindowsXP Pro box.
All works fine.

Now, trying to install PHP 4.3.4. I used the Windows "installer", but it
didn't appear to actually install anything except a directory and a couple
of files.
So I copied into my PHP directory all of the Windows source.
Into c:\windows\system32 I copied (eventually due to troubleshooting) EVERY
..dll in the PHP folder including php4apache2.dll and php4ts.dll.
I renamed php.ini-recommended to php.ini and put that in windows\system32 as
well.
I inserted into my httpd.conf:

LoadModule php4_module "c:/php/sapi/php4apache2.dll"
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

I've rebooted and still, I can browse Web pages fine but no PHP works. I'm
testing by echoing the date and generating phpinfo()...and they don't show
up.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Liam

Helped me out. =) Maybe it'll help someone else with trouble who finds this

I'm no expert on PHP installation, so the above link is pretty useful.
However, may I recommend to you, phpdev (http://www.firepages.com.au/) which
is PHP/Apache/MySQL/Perl in different bundles and works straight from the
box.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
